Introduction

The OPC UA companion specification for Analyser Devices (ADI) defines a data model for process and laboratory analysers. It allows integrating analysers into the supervisory control and tracing systems seamlessly. This Information Model is also referred to as the ADI Information Model. The model is intended to provide a unified view of analyzers irrespective of the underlying device. Reduction of the maintenance cost is a value of this approach, because any replacement of the analysers has very limited impact on the upper systems – it is a “plug and play” solution. Analyzers can be further refined into various groups, but the specification is generic and defines the ADI Model that can be applied to all the groups of analyzers. ADI is based on OPC UA for Devices (DI).

Usage Considerations
